As many of you know I'm a Christian, although I prefer the term 'Follower of The Way' or 'Disciple of Christ'.  I'm not a mainstream Christian, not by a long shot.  I don't believe in a lot of the traditional dogma's and I refuse to be pigeon holed - probably a left over of my rebellious youth there.  If I'm pushed to 'label' myself then the closest I can come is Christian with a Buddhist philosophy.

I truly, truly believe that the first tenant for all human beings should be 'do no harm'.  Does that mean that I'm a Pollyanna miss perfect?  No way.  I fail far more often than I succeed but I do keep trying.  I also believe that as humans we need to grow and change and be humble enough to look honestly at ourselves.  Which brings me to the point of today's post.

I've started the Featured Author of the Week on the website.  Why?  Not just to help my fellow authors but as thanks for all the many, many people who have helped me on my way.  Life is very short and most people are extremely busy, myself included, so to go out of your way to assist, even in a small way, another human being is actually a really big deal.  So much so they made a movie about it that was very popular a while's back.  And that's what I'm really hoping to do here - Pay It Forward, just a little.

I've been incredibly pleased with how well the feature went last week and I truly hope that the momentum continues to build.  And the truth is I'm getting a huge kick out of doing this.  I love the idea that maybe I've helped someone in even a very small way.  So I'm hoping that you - the reader, the single most important person in any writer's life - will continue to support my tiny efforts to help other author's out.  There is so much great talent out there and too many times those wonderfully talented authors can get lost in all the background buzz.

So help me to feel good about myself ;) by helping me to help my fellow writers.  We write for you, we live for you - that probably sounds a little desperate and pathetic but ask any artist and I'm sure they will say the same.  Without you we are an empty shell, a bell without a clapper ringing silently into the universe.  I want to thank you, my followers and readers, for helping me to Pay It Forward and hopefully 'do no harm'.
Cheers all,
Trace
